Dr. Al-Sarhan does not view psychotherapy and medication as competing approaches.
Medication may be an appropriate part of treatment when needed and, in some cases, can reduce the intensity of symptoms enough to help a person engage more effectively in psychotherapy.
The approach is selected according to each person’s individual needs rather than applying the same treatment model to everyone.
His work is not limited to the treatment of psychological disorders.
It also extends to psychological flexibility, self-awareness, values, decision-making, life transitions, and the development of skills that can help people live in a way that is more consistent with what matters to them.
This is where psychotherapy and life coaching may complement one another while maintaining a clear distinction between the purpose and boundaries of each approach.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Al-Sarhan has a strong interest in training and professional development.
He provides training in areas including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, hypnotherapy, and life coaching, with a particular focus on turning theoretical knowledge into practical skills that can be used in real therapeutic and professional settings.
His training is intended both for people who want to understand and apply these approaches in their own lives and for practitioners who want to develop their ability to use them in their work with others.
